We're a proud partner to community organizations with a shared goal of enriching the lives of our neighbors and being the most trusted and loved local food retailer in our community. <br><br><strong> Position Summary: </strong><br><br>This role serves as support to the Director on all labor and employee relations matters and activities including contract negotiations, grievances, arbitrations and interpreting collective bargained agreements. The Manager ensures that all labor and employee relations matters and activities are conducted in a manner consistent with Company labor regulations, strategies, operational and strategic business objectives and Company core values. <br><br>The Manager is responsible for managing the company's labor relations programs, policies, and procedures. This includes establishing and maintaining satisfactory labor-management relations, administering the collective bargaining agreements, administering grievance procedures including arbitrations/National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) charges, and assisting all levels of management on labor matters. The role requires a demonstration of expertise in Human Resource (HR)/Labor Relations (LR), practices, and procedures. <br><br>What You Will Do: <br><br>Grow Our People <br><br><ul><li> We care deeply about people, enjoy diversity and develop talent to get the best out of all of us <br></li></ul><br><br>Obsess Over Customers <br><br><ul><li> We delight our customers with innovative products and experiences that support a healthier future for people and planet <br></li></ul><br><br>Win Together <br><br><ul><li> We collaborate across boundaries to deliver on our strategy and purpose <br></li></ul><br><br>Operational Excellence <br><br><ul><li> Effectively manage collectively bargained benefits administered through Taft Hartley funds. <br></li></ul><ul><li> Manage related financial control mechanisms - assessing required/adequate reserve levels ensuring appropriate budgeting and cash flow projection processes; initiating regular fund and vendor audits; etc. <br></li></ul><ul><li> Manage the Company's benefits-related strategy for the collective bargaining process. <br></li></ul><ul><li> Manage collective bargained benefits and language to ensure we follow the law and contract language. <br></li></ul><ul><li> Stay informed on legislative changes that impact contract language and costs (Example mandatory sick leave). <br></li></ul><ul><li> Interact with internal and external counsel on all related matters and provide guidance and influence economic outcomes <br></li></ul><ul><li> Partner with Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) Director & their team on matters that require union advice or expertise. <br></li></ul><br><br>Planning and Execution <br><br><ul><li> Support the negotiation and union agreement process and ensure that company strategic goals are aligned and considered from a financial perspective. <br></li></ul><ul><li> Provide implementation, guidance, and counsel on all labor relations matters <br></li></ul><ul><li> Play a supporting role in all labor contract negotiations with a focus on impact to run rate costs and future business viability . <br></li></ul><ul><li> Manage relationships with union leadership that provides a venue to discuss and resolve conflicts. <br></li></ul><ul><li> Ensure that collectively bargained benefits provide an environment of safety and satisfaction amongst associates, and, in turn, customers. <br></li></ul><ul><li> Manage ongoing labor relations activities and ensure they are consistent with Company directives, strategy and policies . Partners with HR leadership and align and supports common goals to meet objectives <br></li></ul><ul><li> Partner with ADUSA on contract implementation and payroll audit compliance <br></li></ul><ul><li> Partner with fund(s) administrators on all payment streams, audits, implementation and compliance on all fiduciary responsibilities <br></li></ul><br><br>Collaboration and Leadership <br><br><ul><li> Align with business mission and leadership goals when negotiating wages, health & welfare, pension and severance costs <br></li></ul><ul><li> Manage business and compliance needs, effectively coordinating with key stakeholders and internal and external resources. <br></li></ul><ul><li> Provide consultation to Operations, Merchandising, and Human Resources to ensure that the contract is being followed and aligns with NLRB guidelines. <br></li></ul><ul><li> Advises corporate and operational leadership on the impact strategic or operational decisions will have upon employee and labor relations and makes recommendations that avoid or mitigate the risk and scale of labor disputes. <br></li></ul><ul><li> Partner with Human Resources to provide guidance on grievance and arbitration resolution. <br></li></ul><br><br>What You Will Bring: <br><br><li> Bachelor's degree or relevant experience preferred. <br></li> <br><br> <li> 5+ years of human resources and/or labor relations experience <br></li> <br><br> <li> Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and guide teams towards achieving strategic goals. <br></li> <br><br> <li> Sound knowledge of labor relations/human resources practices and guidance. <br></li> <br><br> <li> Proven experience in a managerial role within a retail or warehouse environment, preferably in a union workforce. <br></li> <br><br> <li> Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to foster collaboration with internal and external stakeholders. <br></li> <br><br> <li> Advanced capabilities in Microsoft Office; Mastery of Excel and PowerPoint; Expertise in Power Bl <br></li> <br><br> <li> Ability to adapt to a fast-paced and dynamic work environment while maintaining a focus on quality and service excellence . <br></li> <br><br><strong> Salary: 117, 375 - $156,500 </strong><br><br>The pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary.
